They've faced rejection and managed to come out on the other side even more resilient. It's clear by the way they speak that they're on another level, and want to spread this mentality to everyone they come into contact with.

Most people don't want to admit when they've messed up. For many, apologizing can feel like they're giving up power and control. But for impressive people, they're the first to admit when they're in the wrong.
Admitting that you aren't perfect is a humbling experience. It requires someone to be confident enough in themselves to say "I'm sorry" without letting their pride get in the way. If someone can say this easily, they aren't just impressive, but mentally and emotionally evolved too.
2. 'We got this'

It's hard not to allow your anxiety to get the better of you. In a world that's becoming more uncertain, being able to keep your cool while remaining optimistic is a skill most people lack. But by being encouraging and saying "we got this," these people are spreading positivity and inspiring others.
They know that no matter what happens, you'll both be okay. Even if it feels like the weight of the world is overwhelming, there's always a rainbow at the end. Life might be difficult, but it'll eventually get better, and that's a lesson these folks are constantly trying to spread.

The majority of people aren't that smooth with their words. They try to be calm and considerate, but keeping their wits about them isn't easy. Especially during difficult conversations, by saying "let's break this down" while debriefing with others, it means they're quite impressive and intelligent.
They aren't trying to prove a point or make a decision for those around them, they just want everyone to get the facts straight. So, they'll go through the problem step by step. They know that jumping to conclusions only makes them more likely to make errors, so they take their time getting to the bottom of it.
4. 'One step at a time'

You can't bulldoze through life. We might want to skip to the good part, but life isn't a movie. We have to go through the bad to get to the good. And while it's a struggle for many to take things day by day, people who are mentally and emotionally impressive tend to say "one step at a time" and use it as a general approach to life.
It doesn't matter how anxious they're feeling. Their stressors could be crushing them, but they'll still hold their head up high. It isn't some magical superpower that keeps them calm and collected, they're just used to performing well under pressure due to their flexibility.
5. 'All I can do is learn from this'

In life, you're going to mess up and make mistakes. It's normal and natural. It doesn't matter how pitch-perfect you try to be, because the wisest people still fumble from time to time. Rather than wallowing in self-pity, impressive and intelligent people pick themselves up and turn it into a learning experience.
They can't go back and fix their mistakes. So, rather than hyper-fixating on hypotheticals, they lean into what they can control. By learning from their mistakes, they can grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially.
6. 'What do you need from me right now?'

Impressive people aren't looking to get something out of others, nor are they looking for a way out. Hyper-fixated on mending bridges, they'd rather ask someone what they need than assume.
They understand the importance of connection. According to experts from UC Berkeley Executive Education, "Connections can be just as important to physical and mental health as exercise and healthy eating." So, these folks do their best to pour into others and be there for support.
7. 'You're allowed to feel that way'

An emotionally and mentally remarkable person isn't trying to control anyone else's emotions. They understand that processing feelings takes time and isn't something they can interfere with. While they wish they could make all your pain go away, they're the first to remind you that you're allowed to feel a certain way.
It doesn't matter how intense the emotion is. In their eyes, all emotions are valid and deserve to be acknowledged. Even if it's ugly, they embrace it anyway. They extend kindness to others, and it's helped them build stronger relationships as a result.
8. 'I don't want to assume'

You won't usually find an impressive person jumping to conclusions. They may have their hypothesis, but they'll always give others the benefit of the doubt. Even if it makes them seem naive, they'd never want to think the worst of anyone. They choose to give others grace.
While they could sit there and gossip, their maturity and intellect doesn't allow them to. They know what it feels like to be ridiculed, so rather than engaging, they want to have all the pieces before making up their minds.
9. 'I need time to process this'

Most people feel pressured to speak up when they're not ready to. In the midst of an intense conversation, the average person doesn't know how to set strict boundaries. But for impressive folks, they'll admit they need time to process everything.
For them, their boundaries are non-negotiable. In fact, boundaries help us prioritize safety and respect in our relationships. They're quick to speak up for themselves, even if it's hard, because they know that working through it is healthier than saying the first thing that comes to mind.
10. 'You don't have to agree with me'

Everyone says they're tolerant of people who have a different opinion, but impressive folks stay true to this. They're open-minded and actively encourage others to voice their thoughts. Even if the truth is ugly, they'd rather be punched with the truth than kissed with a lie.
When push comes to shove, the average person can't handle the heat, hating it when people disagree with them. But there are intelligent people who are quick to say "you don't have to agree with me" and are fully capable of just moving on.
