People Who Show Love By Solving Problems Usually Have 9 Distinct Traits
wavebreakmedia / ShutterstockProblem-solving sounds really practical, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be considered an act of love by many people.
We all use problem-solving skills to some degree every day, including in our romantic relationships. For some people, effectively being able to find solutions to big and small issues is one of their favorite ways to show that they care or feel that they are loved, and they typically share some defining traits in common with one another.
People who show their love by solving problems love usually have these traits when their love language is problem-solving

Many people have a hard time asking for help, even when they need it the most. People who love solving problems know that if they wait for someone to ask for their skills, they’ll probably be waiting forever, so they take action on their own.
It’s a problem-solvers’ first instinct to fix what they can, and they often do that without fully realizing it. They might not actually know how proactive they are, but their effort will be appreciated even more since no one else felt like they had to beg for it.
2. They show their love instead of talking about it
Showing love through actions and stating it through words are two very different things. It’s nice to get that verbal reassurance, but some people say “I love you” without ever really proving it through their actions, making it hard to believe.
Others do the opposite and don’t often tell the person they love how they feel, but they’re always showing it. These people solve problems because they truly want to be there for the people they love. There’s no other way they would rather show their affection.
3. They can stay calm during an emergency
It’s totally understandable for people to freak out when they face a true emergency. But if everyone panicked at the same time, that would cause an even bigger problem.
Those who show love through problem-solving probably know the best way to handle the situation, which helps them stay calm. They stay level-headed so they can support everyone else like they always do.
4. They actually help instead of just saying something nice
It feels really invalidating to share something you’re going through and hear a vague statement like “That’s awful” in response. Getting unsolicited advice is even worse because it makes you feel judged for opening up.
When problem-solving is someone’s love language, they don’t do either of these things. They take charge instead. If they can’t do something to help themselves, they’ll have a serious conversation about what the other person should try. They know that anything else would make the person they love feel bad, which is the last thing they want.
5. They don’t like watching people go through hard times

No one really feels comfortable watching someone they care about struggle, but people react in many different ways. Some people face challenges that make it hard for them to fully understand what others are going through.
People who show their love through problem-solving are the opposite. Even though hard times give people the chance to grow, they still hate to watch loved ones hurting when they don’t have the power to help. Sometimes their love looks like suffering by their side.
6. They never ignore the little things people say
We all talk about our problems a lot. Some people have learned to let this go in one ear and out the other, which makes sense given how the brain works. We’re often forced to let go of small details, so we have stronger memories of what’s most important.
When someone is a natural problem-solver, they seem to defy this logic. If they hear about a small issue someone special is dealing with, they remember it and do what they can to fix it. They might even do more to handle it than the other person did, which makes it even more appreciated.
7. They think about how they could make things easier
Many of us don’t spend much time thinking about the processes we use to get things done. This is just another chance to solve a problem when that’s someone’s love language, though.
They can tell when something could run more efficiently. It’s their creativity that drives the innovation we all rely on. Even if they aren’t creating world-famous inventions, they still want to contribute to making life simpler in any way they can.
8. They find the answer when they don’t know
Psychologists have found that we all feel the need for answers to our questions. It’s easy to see how some people take more initiative than others, though. People who show love through solving problems excel at this the most. If they have a question, or someone they care about has one, they look for the answer and don’t give up until they find it.
That doesn’t mean they find the answers to life’s most existential questions. Instead, it usually looks like doing some research on something that’s outside their area of expertise. This can feel just as meaningful as the biggest discoveries when it helps someone.

There are some people in the world who get easily overwhelmed when they’re trying to figure something out, so they just give up. They’re lucky when they’re loved by someone who wants to solve all of the problems they possibly can.
Problem-solvers have greater mental flexibility that helps them find solutions to problems that stump others. They jump into action and do whatever’s needed to fix things, making them invaluable in all kinds of relationships.
