For some people, the most minor inconvenience can feel like the end of the world.

It usually points to them struggling to maintain control over every little aspect of their life. But rather than learning something from their frustration, they let it spiral into forming some pretty awful bad habits.

People unable to handle the most minor of inconveniences usually have 6 habits

1. They're incredibly impatient

Imagine you're in the checkout line at a grocery store that doesn't seem to be moving quick enough. For the normal person, something like this is annoying, of course, but they see it as just a part of life.

For someone who can't handle that inconvenience, however, they'll skip the line entirely, maybe even telling themselves they'll shop another day. They're usually reacting like this because they're very impatient.

According to a former Harvard Business School professor David H. Maister, those who choose not to wait in lines are doing so to prevent anxiety. "One's 'anxiety' level is much higher while waiting to be served than it is while being served, even though the latter wait may be longer. There is a fear of 'being forgotten,'" he said.

2. They like to complain

When something doesn't go their way, they're thrown off by it. They're used to routine and want control over everything, so if things don't go according to plan, they complain and make a scene.

It's normal to complain, but for the people who like to vent in this way, it's usually to garner sympathy so they can feel better about themselves. They rant about every little thing that went wrong so people will validate them.

3. They think exaggerations make them more interesting

When a person is inconvenienced, even by something so small and unimportant, how they react is very telling. People will either move forward or dwell on it, and folks like this tend to react in a very exaggerated manner.

They'll use over-the-top gestures or stress every word they speak. They want to get a reaction out of others, often to seem more interesting. Unfortunately, exaggeration can also be used as a way to manipulate.

4. They're looking for favors

A normal person might give a favor, expecting nothing in return. But people who are easily frustrated at the tiniest things often desire an award in exchange for a favor.

They treat favors like a transaction instead of just being grateful. The average person may use a favor as a way to grow and get motivated, but for others, inconveniences are an excuse to get support.

Basically, an inconvenienced person will think "What am I getting out of this?" instead of "I'm glad I have such good friends who can help me." They then keep track of the favors they give or ask for, and start expecting more in return.

5. They're used to overplanning

Because easily irritated people desire control, they tend to overplan everything. If they want to go to the bank at 11 a.m., only to be disrupted by a traffic jam for a few minutes, their patience wears thin.

Executive coach Jim Bruce pointed out that frustration can arise when plans go awry. "As good and important as a deliberate planning practice is, it can often leave us frustrated... when we find that the day didn't go as we planned... We look back and... begin to wonder whether there is any real value in planning," he revealed.

But inconvenienced people refuse to change, choosing to stress out and overthink rather than pivot. Trying to plan every little thing in their day is their way of staying in control, so when that doesn't happen, they can spiral.

6. They struggle with self-assurance

A person who struggles with their confidence may try to compensate for it in toxic ways. They doubt their own abilities, so they take on bad habits that help them hide from the truth.

Because they lack any inner certainty, they're left overthinking everything they do and say. Just when they think they have something over control, and are met with a minor inconvenience, they simply can't handle it.
