Some people have a tense, anxious vibe while others have a mellow one. To tell the difference, keep an eye out for a few of the things high vibe people say in day-to-day conversations.
People with a high mental & emotional vibe usually say 7 phrases in everyday conversation:
1. 'I feel like something is going on. Is everything OK?'

People with a high mental and emotional vibe are usually very aware of what’s going on around them. They’ll be able to tell if something is off with one of their friends, even without them saying anything.
Whenever their friend is having a bad day, they’ll ask them, “Are you feeling okay?” They’re not just going straight up tell their friends they know something is wrong, as that can make people uncomfortable. The person also might not be ready to talk about it.
By mentioning their mood in the form of a question, these people are able to give their friends the option to talk it out or deal with it themselves. They don’t want to make anyone feel pressured to share their feelings.
2. 'That experience had me feeling…'
People with a high mental and emotional vibe are always thinking about how to improve and reflecting on their lives. They usually have this vibe because they experience their feelings really strongly and want to handle them responsibly.
They can sometimes do this alone through journaling, but they’ll also do this sometimes with friends or other loved ones. They’ll often reflect back on how something made them feel after an experience because they want to reflect on it rather than keep their feelings inside. They also might find it easier to process their feelings and experiences by talking them through with someone.
This goes for positive emotions and experiences as well as negative ones. High vibe people like to experience their feelings without shoving them away.
3. 'You shouldn’t push yourself too hard'
These people are always thinking about feelings, even if something emotional isn’t happening right at that moment. They like to think of the big picture when it comes to emotions rather than the immediate or surface reaction. They usually spend a lot of time considering how situations would make them or their friends feel in the future because they are so empathetic.
For example, one of their friends might feel a little frazzled with work, but overall they say they’re fine. Someone with a high mental and emotional vibe would tell them, “You shouldn’t feel obligated push yourself too hard.”
They know that if their friends keep overwhelming themselves with assignments, they’ll experience burnout. That can cause someone to feel too exhausted to get their work done, and it ultimately leaves them farther behind on their to-do list. It usually makes people even more stressed, which often leads to a toxic spiral of anxiety.
They’re saying this as a warning because they want their friend to be healthy and happy.
4. 'I think everyone should be in therapy'

Because people with a high emotional vibe consider emotions a lot, they want everyone around them to be happy or at least content. They can frequently be heard saying, “I think everyone should be in therapy or inner work of some type" because they know the benefit of looking inward.
While not everyone needs therapy, everyone can definitely benefit from it at some point. Therapy helps people communicate and manage their stress better. It also helps with emotional regulation. When people are going through hard times, that skill can really help them. It stops them from getting overwhelmed by negative thoughts.
These people are probably in therapy themselves since they’re so focused on their minds and feelings. Therapy makes people think critically about their emotions, so this is the perfect space for them. They’ve experienced the benefits of being there and want their friends to experience it too.
5. 'The vibes feel off here'
People with a high mental vibe tend to have strong intuitions. Since they’re generally very aware of their feelings and their body sensations, they tend to pick up on the emotional energy of wherever they are. They’ll consider everyone’s mood, and their intuition will tell them what the general vibe of the hangout will be.
If they pick up on a lot of negative energy coming from their friends or a general situation, they’ll tell them, “The vibes feel off.” They’re bringing awareness to how the group is feeling because they don’t want them to keep being negative. They know that having fun with your friends is a great way to get rid of stress and feel happy.
They want to keep their emotions high by enjoying their hangout. By pointing out that the vibe isn't very energetic, they’re trying to get people to be more enthusiastic. That way they can all feel a little better afterwards.
6. 'Let’s just decide as we go along'
When someone has a high mental and emotional vibe, they don’t care as much about the destination as they do about the journey. These people can sometimes be indecisive because they want to experience everything, and can enjoy spending time with people they care about regardless of where they go.
Even if they debated options before, this is probably what they wanted to do all along. They want to enjoy the journey with their friends because they believe that’s where most of the fun happens.
They also might have an emotional reaction to something along the way, which could teach them more about themselves and their friends.
7. 'I wonder if the reason for that feeling is...'
People with a high mental and emotional vibe are usually pretty emotionally intelligent. Emotional intelligence is what makes people think through emotions critically and use empathy to imagine what other people are feeling. They also have the ability to maintain control over their biggest reactions so as to minimize harming others.
They can do this for other people, too. When their friend rants to them about something, they’ll understand where it might be coming from. Their emotional intelligence allows them to pick up on these signs and signals. This helps them observe patterns that teach them why their friend gets upset about certain things.
When their friend talks to them about how they’re feeling, they’ll respond by empathizing. They’ll probably know the history behind why their friend feels that way because high vibe people are good listeners who remember the details, but they still won't jump to conclusions about how someone is feeling. Because they are so emotionally aware and thoughtful, they'll ask first instead of assuming.
